Q&A #1

Karen Rani of Troll Baby (who I love!  Read Troll Baby.  Go read it, I’ll wait here. Good stuff, eh?  And Canadian too!) asks:

What songs do you like to belt out when no one is around?

Well, maybe I’m the type of person who likes to sing opera when I’m alone in the car. Maybe. Like only when it’s dark out and there’s nothing to listen to on the radio I might do it. Maybe.

It starts out innocently enough with a pffffftt!

Then I might venture a meep!

Which leads to a MEEP !!

OOOH, AUWWWWW, MEEEEEEE, LUUUUUUUUUU, BAAAAAAAAAAA, BO, BO, BO, BO

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH !!

OH SOLA MIA! OH SOLA MEEEEEEEEE

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

MEEP !!

Maybe that happens.

Actually it happened the other day while I wasn’t alone in the car. Ashley was with me and, because we are consistently ridiculous when we’re around each other (my teenager is fun-ay!), we started having OPERA WARS.

She would moo. I would moo. She would pffft. I would PFFFT. Ashley auwwwed, I Ooohed.

We mooed and meeped and aahed and bleeped and pfffted. Then we recreated Do, Rae, Me from The Sound of Music. Badly.

Then we giggled a lot and promised never to speak of this again. I hope she doesn’t read this.

Also, when I’m alone in the house I love to clean house with my MP3 player on. It runs the gammut of 80′ oldies from The Kids From Fame to Styx to Night Ranger to Black Box to Blue Rodeo. I have no shame when it comes to 80’s music. I’ve downloaded it all. Playing music while I clean actually makes housework fun and, because I’m wearing earphones, I can’t hear myself squawking along to the music.

…MEEP !!
